Sweet & Spicy Shrimp in Banana Ketchup

This is a delicious, saucy, savoury prawn dish that will have you licking all the sauces off your fingers, and the plate if you could. The Banana Ketchup just adds that extra sweetness to make this easy dish.

Ingredients

  • 500g
    King prawns or large shrimp
  • 1
    Red bell pepper, deseeded and sliced into strips
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    pice of ginger sliced into strips ( about 1 inch/25mm)
  • 1
    clove of garlic chopped
  • 200g
    tenderstem broccoli (top halves with the flowerets)
  • 125m
    Dream Caribbean Banana Ketchup
  • 60ml
    Butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tsp
    Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tsp
    Viking Green Herb Seasoning
  • 1 Tsp
    Fish Sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp
    Black Pepper

Method

  1. Combine banana ketchup, soy sauce, green seasoning, fish sauce, and black pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Melt butter. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add bell pepper and shrimp. Stir-fry for 3 minutes or just until the shrimps start to change color.
  4. Add banana ketchup mixture and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
  5. Add broccoli florets and toss well to combine stir fry for 2 minutes more. Serve immediately.

Notes

This dish goes well with either fried rice or steamed rice.

you can use any size of shrimp in this Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Stir Fry Recipe. The best sizes are the bigger ones though. Tiger Prawns are the best.
